Alloy Steel Shackles

To give strength and durability to the part, both body and the pin are made from heat-treated alloy steel. Alloy steel renders strength to the shackle without adding to the weight. Screw pin anchor shackles are the most common "clevises" used in industrial, agricultural and marine applications. The screw pin design allows easy assembling and disassembling. The hole in the head allows it to be wired shut for safety. Shackles are stocked in galvanized steel.

Mild Steel Bow Shackles

• The pin diameters actually used may be based on any standard series for sizes of bar material provided that the intervals between adjacent sizes do not exceed the R20 Interval (1.12) The next size above the minimum pin diameter, D min as given in the above table should be used. The Nominal diameter D used is then subject to the tolerances specified in 5.2 of IS:6132 (Part I). 1971 The eye outside diameter then becomes twice the nominal Pin Diameter D subject to the tolerances in 5.2 of IS: 6132 (Part II) - 1971.

Hooks

• The most complete line of Eye hooks. Available ½ ton to 60 tons.


• Proper design, careful forging and precision controlled quench and tempering give maximum strength.


• Every Eye Hook has a pre-drilled cam, which can be equipped with a latch.


• Eye hooks are load rated. Available in mild steel and alloy steel.


• Proof load is 2 times Working Load Limit. All carbon hooks-average straightening load (ultimate load) is 5 times Working Load Limit. Alloy eye hooks


• 1 ton to 22 ton - average straightening load (ultimate load) is 4 times. Working Load Limit. Alloy eye hooks 30

Self Locking Hooks

• Positive Lock Latch is Self-Locking when hook is loaded

• Meets ASTM A-952-96 and proposed Euronorm standards for Grade 8 chain fitting

Clevis Hooks

Eye and Eye Turn Buckles

• Galvanized steel.


• End fittings are Quenched and Tempered, bodies heat treated by normalizing.


• Turnbuckle eyes are forged and elongated, by design, to maximize easy attachment in system and minimize stress in the eye. For turnbuckle size ¼” through 2 ½ ” a shackle one size smaller can be revved through eye.


• Modified BSW thread for improved fatigue properties.


• Turnbuckles recommended for straight or in-line pull only.


• Lock Nuts available for all sizes.

Wedge Socket

• Basket is cast steel.


• Wedge socket terminations have an efficiency rating of 80% based on the catalog strength of XXIP wire rope
.

• Wedges are color coded for easy identification.

• Cast into each wedge is the model number of the socket and the wire line size for which the wedge is to be used.


• Cast into each socket is the name "McKissick", "Crosby" or "CG", its model number and its wire line range.


• By simply changing out the wedge, each socket can be utilized for various wire line sizes (Ensure correct wedge is used for wire rope size).


• Load pin is forged and headed on one end.


• US-422 wedge sockets contain a hammer pad (lip) to assist in proper securement of termination.


• Crosby products meet or exceed all the requirements of ASME B30.26 including identification, ductility, design factor, proof load and temperature requirements. Importantly, Crosby products meet other critical performance requirements including fatigue life, impact properties and material traceability, not addressed by ASME B20.26.


• UWO-422 Wedges are to be used only with the US-422 Wedge Socket Assemblies

Crosby Fittings
We have started a new line Crosby’s chain and fittings. It meets grade 100 loads that are 20% to 25% higher than grade 80. Like our fittings for Grade 8 chain, fittings are fatigue rated and individually proof tested.


Solid Thimbles
We supply solid thimbles as per the specifications. For wire ropes of intermediate sizes, the next larger size of thimble is used. Dimension M is the standard pinhole and the largest pinhole for each thimble. Should a smaller pinhole be required the diameter of this shall be stated in the enquiry and order.


Mild Steel Eye Bolts
We also supply Mild Steel Eye Bolts To use it correctly and to reduce the fatigue, the threaded shank must protrude through the load sufficiently to allow full engagement of the nut. If the eyebolt protrudes a lot then the bolt can’t be screwed or tightened against the load. In this case a washer should be used.
The washer or the spacers should be placed between the load and the nut such that the shoulder is nicely secured or screwed.
